A job fair can be a great opportunity for you to meet and network with employers. Most fairs are held in person, but some events can take place online.

Knowing what to do and how to prepare for a career and job fair will help you make the most of the opportunities offered.

If you’re looking for career development advice, accredited workshops and the chance to speak to trusts and private healthcare employers in your area about the employment opportunities they offer for nurses and healthcare staff, join us at a career and job fair.

The atmosphere is lively and employers are eager to talk to everyone about the nursing positions they have open within their organization. Interview rooms are available on the day, so get ready; you might walk away with a new job offer.

Set a goal for yourself

Set yourself a realistic goal of what you would like to achieve at the job fair.

This will help you stay motivated and reflect on how well the day went.

Examples of realistic goals:

  • talk to 3 people from different companies;
  • get 2 names you can contact on LinkedIn;
  • learn how to apply for a job at a company you are interested in.

It is important to bring several copies of your resume, as well as a notepad and pen. If you have your own business cards, you can bring them to hand out with your resume or to any other contacts you meet during the job fair. Also bring a regular folder with separate compartments for your extra resumes, pen and paper, and any business cards you receive.
